Tour with FUFF
FUFF Artist Group consists four young female artists, all with a connection to Finnmark county. We all have a thing or two to say about how today's climate politics in this fragile area is run. The growing oil industry, the mine industry's plans on depositing waste in the Repparfjord and the same industry's displacement of the raindeer herders are among the themes that concern us. We also comment on waste disposal, the preservation of marshes and the preservation of the reindeer pastures on the Finnmark plateau.
We take on these issues with our own generation in mind, a generation which is signified by the expression "The icing generation". The expression is a follow up of "The dessert generation" which is our parents. They established themselves in a society of huge growth and reaped the benefits of this. "The icing generation" describes someone who enjoys the icing of the cake. This group is characterized as lazy, materialistic, shunners of responsibility and most significantly someone who expects the same or better living standards than our parents. Are our generation capable of taking care of nature, reduce pollution and maybe having to lower our expectations in the process? We want to express our concern and contribute to the debate with our own, unique, viewpoints.
